Looking after your film.
PPF is low-maintenance, but a few habits keep it clear and glossy for years.
Do
Good habits
- Wait about a week after install before the first wash.
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral car shampoo and a soft mitt.
- Dry with a clean microfibre towel.
- Use PPF-safe sealants or sprays if you want extra slickness.
- Remove bird droppings and tree sap promptly.
- Let the sun or warm water heal light swirls.
Donāt
Things to avoid
- Donāt aim a pressure washer at film edges; keep it at least 30 cm away.
- Donāt use cutting compounds or abrasive polishes on the film.
- Donāt pick or lift an edge. Take it to your dealer.
- Donāt use solvent-based cleaners, tar removers or strong degreasers on the film.
- Donāt use automatic brush car washes in the first month.
